In celebration of her birthday, the family and friends of Mrs. Funmi Osineye commemorated the special occasion with impactful partnerships with the Education Enhancement Intervention for Food Insecure Students (EDUFOOD) program, and the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) of the food bank on the 16th and 25th of May 2024, respectively, providing nourishment and learning materials to food insecure school children in low-cost schools in Agege community, and nutritious food items and relief materials to resilient women and households in Oworonshoki community.

“It gives me unexplainable joy seeing the smiles on the faces of these children. I hope we can do this again next year,” was one of the remarks of the celebrant during the outreach in a low-income school in Agege community. The children appreciated her with a birthday song while they enjoyed their hot delicious meals.

Addressing those present at the TEFAP outreach in Oworonshoki community, the ED/Founder of Lagos Food Bank Initiative, Dr. Michael Sunbola, appreciated the celebrant who is also a friend of the food bank for her generosity to humanity and emphasized on the significance of sharing with underprivileged populace during a time of celebration and festivity. He also encouraged attendees to continue to advocate for the needy in their respective places of residence and workspac.

The outreaches were huge successes, recording a good number of food bank volunteers, who attended both outreaches in support of community-driven initiatives to ensure seamless distribution activities.
