“If we can do the little we can for our community, that will touch a lot of lives,” said the celebrity celebrant, Enioluwa Prince Adeoluwa, during the birthday impact outreach held on the 12th of August 2024 at the food bank warehouse. It was indeed a special day for the beneficiaries of the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) as they received their boxes of hope with food items and personal care materials to cushion the effect of high costs of living.
The timely distribution sparked remarkable joy among the beneficiaries who sang and danced with the celebrant, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the packages they received. Overwhelmed with the turn out of attendees at the outreach venue, the vibrant celebrant joyfully created memorable moments while packing some of the food boxes with the food bank volunteers who showed up in numbers to ensure a seamless distribution process.
In his speech before the commencement of the distribution activities, the Executive Director/Founder of Lagos Food Bank Initiative, Dr. Michael Sunbola, appreciated the celebrant for his impactful partnership with the food bank, highlighting the significance of the support and love shown to the beneficiaries of the outreach amidst recent food inflation which has increased the prevalence of food insecurity in low-income communities.
In his testimonial after the distribution, the celebrant advocated for the food bank’s mission, calling on more organizations and privileged individuals in society to key into the food bank’s vision of a hunger-free society for all, attesting to the credibility and accountability of the food bank’s operations.
