On the 5th of July 2024, Lagos Food Bank Initiative set out to Agege Community to distribute clothes and accessories to resilient residents of the community in a bid to curb clothing poverty affecting households in low-cost communities.
This outreach was geared towards assisting households with some basic needs like decent clothes and accessories, encouraging them to channel their limited resources to other pressing household necessities.
Speaking to one of the beneficiaries of the outreach, Mrs. Olatunbosun expressed her sincere gratitude for the clothing items she received for herself and her children, stating that they will not need to worry about appropriate things to wear for the coming months, given the recent changes in the weather condition.
Also giving a testimonial for items received, Mr. Samson said he was very grateful for the quality outfits he got, highlighting his need for such items to appear responsible at his place of work.
Mrs. Agnes also thanked the food bank team for catering to her household needs, citing the difficulty they face in affording quality clothes due to inflation. She also mentioned that with the support from this outreach, her household income can now be spent on other needs like school fees and food items.
The outreach was a huge success, with the help of the hardworking food bank team and volunteers who teamed up to ensure a seamless distribution process.
