We are delighted to announce that the Lagos Food Bank has been awarded the Most Dedicated Food Insecurity Initiative in Nigeria in the MEA Markets Business Awards as a testament to the remarkable achievements of businesses spanning the Middle East and Africa region.

With a continuous increase in the number of families living below the poverty line, food Insecurity is a resounding crisis resulting from increased prices of food items and low purchasing power of vulnerable families, the food bank has put in place sustainable solutions that provide easy access to nutritious and sufficient food for all.

The MEA Markets Business Awards is a prestigious awards programme that aims to recognize and laud outstanding performers across a spectrum of industries, encompassing finance, technology, energy, healthcare, and more. 

Lagos Food Bank since inception has reached 2.4 million vulnerable families across 160 low-income communities with a volunteer strength of over 24,000 volunteers transforming lives by fighting malnutrition and hunger through nutrition focused programs which seeks to improve the nutrition/food intake of widows, diet-related disease patients, pregnant women and their infants; and students in public primary and secondary schools.  Also focusing on reducing food waste and organising entrepreneurship training and job placement programs that help beneficiaries become more self-reliant.
