On Sunday 2nd of October 2022, the Lagos Food Bank Initiative embarked on another impact journey of nutritional intervention to serve vulnerable families within Shasha/Akowonjo community through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in partnership with Michael Olajide. The day was bright with clear skies and was off to a good start as volunteers joined by our partner Mr Michael Olajide to offload and distribute the boxes of hope from the designated outreach grounds to the registered community members. As they received their boxes of food relief items, the beneficiaries profusely prayed for the organization and its partners. Mrs Adeyemo, a widowed mother of 5 who lamented on how she and her children could afford to eat once a day showed her happiness by dancing at the outreach grounds. The distribution provided the vulnerable families in Shasha/Akowonjo access to nutritious meals as well as clothing and other relief items, thus providing them with healthy diets while also catering for their other social needs.
