“We are proud of yet another impactful partnership with Lagos Food Bank to support vulnerable families in our community with nourishment, this initiative is much needed for the sustenance of the underprivileged in our society,” was the highlight of a flawlessly delivered speech by the Senior Brand Manager, Non-Alcoholics Category, Guinness Nigeria, Ife Odedere, during the community outreach in Somolu Community, which took place on the 5th of April 2024.

The dynamic partnership between Malta Guinness and Lagos Food Bank Initiative proved timely as beneficiaries of the Temporary Food Assistance Program went home with renewed hope and obvious smiles on their faces upon receiving nourishing food items for their sustenance. Given the rising cost of living that has led to the prevalence of food insecurity in recent times, the food bank was much appreciated for a successful distribution exercise by the partner organization.

In his address to attendees of the outreach program, Dr. Michael Sunbola, the Founder/Executive Director of Lagos Food Bank Initiative appreciated the partner organization, Malta Guinness, for another successful partnership with the food bank, and for their generosity and kindness to humanity. He also appreciated the ever-committed food bank volunteers who showed up in numbers to assist with the activities of the day, emphasizing that their selfless sacrifice to humanity will not go unrewarded. Highlighting the on-going crisis faced by many families surviving below the poverty line in underserved communities, the founder of the food bank advocated for more viable partnerships and policies to be taken to improve the economic conditions of these families.

“We cannot appreciate the food bank and their partners enough for the love they have shown to us today. Many families here in Somolu struggle to eat everyday and this kindness shown to us will go a very long way in the lives of every member of our family. We say thank you and God bless you all for helping us with what to feed our families,” was the words of a beneficiary of the distribution, residing in Somolu Community.
