On the 31st of July 2023, the Lagos Food Bank Initiative officially published its mid year report of its activities in the first six months of Fiscal Year 2023.

In the report, the food bank highlighted its highlighting its notable achievements and milestones which included the organization’s seventh year anniversary and launch of  two new programs; Cloth Bank Nigeria and Food Bank Nigeria Network, representation at the Food Bank Leadership Institute, hosting of the second edition of the car wash fundraiser targeted towards the school feeding program.

The 2022 Annual Report and Audited Financial Statement was published to reflect the food bank’s engaging community projects and achievements over the Fiscal Year ‘22. The food bank also officially launched the virtual volunteering program for individuals who are in far distance interested in volunteering their skills and resources.

Through its 8 community development programs, LFBI has gained recognition from international and multilateral organizations such as the Australian High Commission in Nigeria and through the family farming program received an award from the Water Air Food Awards in the food category in recognition of the programs impact in providing financial and food security to its beneficiaries.

Finally, the food bank announced the launch of a new program in response to the fuel subsidy removal, Subsidy Removal Food Aid Program (SRFAP). The Lagos Food Bank is excited about its recent achievements and is on the path to continue closing the hunger gap, poverty and malnutrition across vulnerable communities.
