On Saturday, 11th of February 2023, Lagos Food Bank partnered with ITEL Nigeria to celebrate love through nutritional intervention with the people of Amukoko community.
Amukoko is a bubbly community situated near Aiyetoro and Coker village in Ajeromi/Ifelodun local government, Lagos state. The aim of the outreach was to bring relief to their present nutritional needs and to provide them with food and other relief materials.
In preparation for the outreach, the community inspection team visited Amukoko community on the 5th of February 2023 to identify and register beneficiaries ahead of the intervention by sharing beneficiary tags and meeting with the relevant stakeholders within the community to ensure a hitch-free outreach.
On the morning of the outreach, some of the volunteers gathered at the warehouse to do some last minute preparation and to load the boxes of hope into the truck, while the rest of the volunteer team and the ITEL Nigeria team already arrived at the outreach venue in Amukoko community to ensure orderliness and to manage the crowd of excited beneficiaries that had gathered at the distribution site.

At 8:30am, LFBI fleet of vehicles left the Warehouse to the outreach venue and the excitement at the venue was palpable. The compliance team worked to ensure that the relevant stakeholders which include partner organization, volunteers and beneficiaries adhered to all safety precautions and all the team worked in unity to ensure a smooth distribution of Food and relief items.

The beneficiaries expressed their sincere appreciation, the unregistered beneficiaries that were at the outreach also got clothes, shoes, towels, buckets and other relief materials. Overall, the Amukoko community outreach was a success, and it was heartwarming to see the joy it brought to the faces of hundreds of people.
