It was a Good Friday to remember for widows from Alimosho LGA on Friday 29th of March, 2024 as they danced with joy at the Food Bank warehouse this Friday morning. The Lagos Food Bank commemorated the Easter celebrations with the provision of food and personal care items through the  Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

“Easter is a season that symbolizes renewed hope and by celebrating this special time”, stated Dr. Michael Sunbola, the Founder of LFBI. He stated “we at the food bank will continue to ensure that sufficient and nutritious food is available to all and sundry irrespective of their status and social class.” in his opening remarks to the volunteers and beneficiaries present at the food bank.

In an interview with a beneficiary of the day, Mrs Arowojolu after receiving her food relief items stated that “Today would not have been a happy day for me and my children as there is nothing at home for us to eat, not to talk of celebrating Easter. As the food bank called me to receive my food voucher and then food box, I became overjoyed. I have received food items and also fresh vegetables that will go a long way for my family”.

All beneficiaries present at the “Love at Easter” outreach received staple food items that would sustain their families with fresh vegetables from the Agricultural Recovery Program and frozen food donations from the food bank’s donor partner Sympli Foods. The outreach was a success as all beneficiaries happily left the food bank warehouse with their food relief items.
