The Lagos Food Bank through its Family Farming program on the 28th of October, 2023 supported its beneficiaries with agricultural materials inclusive of poultry, snail and vegetable produce to establish their backyard farms. The President of LFBI, Dr. Michael Sunbola encouraged the beneficiaries of the day and he also highlighted the importance of the program as it is set to reduce the prevalence of hunger and poverty by creating an alternative food source which makes access to fresh and healthy food easy and affordable.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Hauwa appreciated the food bank for supporting her with the materials, she also noted that starting her farm will be a means of support to her family. The beneficiaries of the outreach expressed their gratitude and sang praises of the food bank upon receiving their materials for their backyard farms.
