The World Diabetes Day (14th December) is internationally recognized as a day to raise awareness of the growing burden of diabetes, and strategies to prevent and manage the threat. The theme for this year is “Educate for Tomorrow”. In celebration of this, Lagos Food Bank will be reaching out to people living with diabetes (PLD) through the Nutrition Intervention for Diabetes Self-Management with food relief items that cater to their dietary needs.

GOALS
To solve the problem of food insecurity and poor dietary intake among people living with diabetes in low-income communities in Lagos, Nigeria.

OBJECTIVES
To reduce the prevalence of diet related disease within vulnerable communities
To educate and give proper and adequate dietary counseling to PLD
