In continuation of the One Billion Meal Campaign, on Sunday 23rd of October 2022, Lagos Food Bank Initiative is having a nutritional intervention through the Temporary Food Assistance Program which is targeted to cater for the nutritional needs of vulnerable households in Oke-Eri community – Oworoshoki by providing them with staple food items which is to last them for about 2-4 weeks. This outreach is sponsored by the ongoing One Billion Meals Campaign in partnership with the Food Banking Regional Network and Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiative.

 

ABOUT OUR PARTNER:

The Food Banking Regional Network is a non-governmental organization that organizes charity work, unify efforts and encourages cooperation between different sectors for protecting the right of people to feed themselves in dignity. The FBRN is looking forward to changing the world to achieve food sufficiency, secure the environment, and develop the needy to attain independence and to attain nutritional security.

GOALS

The goal of this outreach is to reduce the effect of food insecurity among the vulnerable people living in under-served communities by providing them with nutritious food items and other relief items.

OBJECTIVES

  • To increase awareness on the issue of food insecurity and its effects among the residents in under-served communities
  • To provide access to nutritious food items to vulnerable members of the community.
  • To provide immediate relief to the worries of hunger and malnutrition among the vulnerable members of the community
  • To encourage proper nutrition and food sufficiency through food donation and partnerships.
