In continuation of the One Billion Meal Campaign, on Thursday 24th of November 2022, Lagos Food Bank Initiative is having a nutritional intervention through the One Billion Meal Campaign at the Lagos Food Bank Warehouse. The intervention is targeted to cater for the nutritional needs of vulnerable households and people living in under-served communities by providing them with staple food items which is to last a family of 4/5 for about 2-4 weeks.

This outreach is in partnership with the Food Banking Regional Network and Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiative.

ABOUT OUR PARTNER:

The Food Banking Regional Network is a non-governmental organization that organizes charity work, unify efforts and encourages cooperation between different sectors for protecting the right of people to feed themselves in dignity. The FBRN is looking forward to changing the world to achieve food sufficiency, secure the environment, and develop the needy to attain independence and to attain nutritional security.

GOALS

The goal of this outreach is to provide access to healthy meals to indigent people in the local communities by donating staple food items and other relief materials.

OBJECTIVES

  • To provide food assistance to keep the inhabitants with low economic power from being hungry
  • To increase awareness on the issue of food insecurity and its effects among the residents in under-served communities
  • To encourage proper nutrition and food sufficiency through food donation and partnerships.
