On Tuesday 19th March, 2024 and Wednesday 20th March, 2024 the Family Farming program will have a two day comprehensive training for women and youths from Agege community at the foodbank warehouse as we will be equipping them with the necessary skills to kickstart their backyard farms in partnership with UPS Foundation.
The UPS Foundation’s philanthropic approach centers on four focus areas: health & humanitarian relief, equity and economic empowerment, local engagement and planet protection.
This training is an interactive theoretical and practical demonstration of urban farming practices where the beneficiaries will learn about Vegetable production (Olericulture), Snail production (Heliculture), Poultry production and Agribusiness entrepreneurship.
Objectives of the Training:
- To promote food and financial security through urban farming.
- To promote food security and financial stability of the program’s beneficiaries there by making them self-reliant
- To reduce the prevalence of poverty amidst women.
