The Lagos Food Bank will be implementing a TEFAP outreach in Agala community. Hundreds of identified vulnerable families will benefit from the outreach holding on the 12th March, 2022. Through our TEFAP program that caters to the welfare of vulnerable beneficiaries in the aspect of food and personal care and hygiene, we are continuing our good works of supplying relief to vulnerable indigent communities in Lagos, Nigeria.

COMMUNITY

The outreach holds in Agala community. Agala is an island community in Lagos, Nigeria. Residents of Agala live in a Vulnerable condition and do not have access to public electricity supply. Majority of them live below the poverty line and are food insecure. Amenities and basic structures like decent housing and community development are lacking in this community. Agala community is surrounded by water with a ferry being the only means to access this community.

GOALS

To meet the needs of the most vulnerable families in Agala community. We aim to reach out to vulnerable people that are in dire economic and physical straits to give them hope and assistance. Also, to meet the nutritional needs of the vulnerable groups in this community.

OBJECTIVES

  • To provide food assistance to keep the inhabitants with low economic power from being hungry
  • To give them and their children personal care items to reduce the prevalence of infection and support better nutrition.
  • To provide hope through our support and donations and to influence positive behaviors in the community.
