On Tuesday 1st August, 2023 the Lagos Food Bank Initiative will be celebrating the World Breastfeeding Week through its NUMEPLAN program at the Food Bank Warehouse. The theme
for this year’s program is “Enabling Breastfeeding; Making a Difference with Working Parents”
The Nutritious Meal Plan Intervention for Vulnerable Mothers and Children, (NUMEPLAN) is a program that seeks to improve the nutrition of vulnerable mothers and children living in undeserved communities in Lagos State.
In celebrating the World breastfeeding Week 2023, we will be reaching out to breastfeeding
mothers is the low-cost communities in Lagos state through our partner Primary Health Centres
(PHCs). The event will include interactive sessions, engaging discussions with breastfeeding
mothers.
GOAL:
The aim of the program is to promote the importance of breastfeeding and support working
parents in their breastfeeding journey.
OBJECTIVES:
- To emphasize the role of working parents in breastfeeding and create an enabling
environment for breastfeeding support. - To inform and engage breastfeeding mothers in low-cost communities in Lagos about the
significance of breastfeeding and its positive impact on the health and well-being of both
mothers and babies.
