The Lagos Food Bank Initiative team will be present at the 2023 Food Bank Leadership Institute (FBLI) taking place in Mexico City, Mexico from the 20th March, 2023 to 22nd March, 2023 with 51 countries representing 5 continents.
The FBLI is a global gathering exploring the vital role that food banks play in reducing food loss and waste while fighting hunger in local communities and has become a landmark event for food bank leaders, CSR / ESG executives establishing or deepening partnerships with food banks to advance corporate objectives, and thought leaders exploring solutions to reducing food loss and waste and the associated climate impact.
The in-person conference centered on the theme Food Banking in an Age of Volatility is packed with sessions to discuss climate change and food systems, increasing food insecurity, policies, the response of food banks to major events affecting their communities among many more key issues.
The President of Lagos Food Bank Initiative Dr. Michael Sunbola will also be speaking at the conference on communication strategies, policies and advocacy governing the food donation climate. The sessions will be streamed virtually for all to join in and partake in these important conversations.
