On August 9, 2025, the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) once again served as a bridge of hope, improving lives through dedicated community outreach and meaningful partnerships. This time, the occasion was made extra special by Mrs. Funmi Osineye, who chose to mark her birthday not with a grand party, but with an act of service to the vulnerable households in Somolu community.

Rather than spending her special day surrounded by fanfare, Mrs. Osineye arrived in Somolu with her family, ready to give her time, resources, and heart. Side by side with LFBI volunteers, she helped distribute nutritious food items to families experiencing food insecurity, turning her celebration into a source of joy and relief for many.

The atmosphere was filled with warmth as she personally interacted with beneficiaries, offering words of encouragement along with the food packs. Smiles and heartfelt gratitude lit up the community, a reflection of the deep impact her generosity made.

Reflecting on the experience, Mrs. Osineye shared: “The best way to celebrate life is by touching the lives of others. Today, I am grateful to share my joy with this community.”

Her choice to serve rather than be served embodies the true spirit of community and compassion. By transforming her birthday into a mission of giving, Mrs. Funmi Osineye reminded us all that the greatest celebrations are those that leave others better than we found them.
