A prominent lifestyle and wellness company that uses a direct selling business model to offer a wide selection of exclusive products, enabling individuals to embrace a healthier, more balanced life, QNET partnered with Lagos Food Bank Initiative on the 23rd of December 2024, through the EDUFOOD initiative to celebrate the Christmas season with students from low-cost private schools in Oko-Agbon, Yaba.
Taking place in the above mentioned community, a thousand children were hosted with fun games, face painting and gifts sharing to commemorate the significant season of giving, Christmas.
Speaking to the food bank’s media team, a representative of QNET, highlighted the sense of fulfillment in executing a project like this, and appreciated the food bank for their partnership, commending their consistent effort in addressing food security issues, which was a convincing factor in facilitating the collaboration.
“The importance of celebrating Christmas with children can never be enough as Christmas itself is about the birth of a very special child, into this world, for a special mission. And so partnerships like this mean a lot to us as humanitarians, and as a food bank combating hunger in our communities,” said the programs officer of the Education Enhancement Intervention for Food Insecure Students (EDUFOOD), Mopelola Oladapo, during a briefing at the Lagos Food Bank warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja.
Actively participating in the packaging and distribution of the deliciously cooked meals, the QNET team experienced firsthand the profound joy that comes with giving back to society, especially during a special season, and this was confirmed by the bright smiles on the children’s faces, and the appreciation they expressed through screaming and dancing.
The impactful partnership also witnessed a turn out of food bank volunteers who showed up to ensure the smooth execution of this community project in Oko-Agbon, Yaba. Many young people from across Lagos state willingly donated their time and energy to assist in the packaging and distribution of the meals and gift items for children, for a Christmas to remember.
