On March 16, 2026, Taptap Send partnered with Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) to deliver timely food support through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), reaching fasting Muslim households during the sacred month of Ramadan. Rooted in compassion and shared purpose, the collaboration reflected the true spirit of the season, offering substantial relief to families navigating food insecurity.

The outreach took place at the Lagos Food Bank warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja, where volunteers, staff, and 2 representatives from Taptap Send gathered with a clear sense of the mission. The day began with volunteers engaged in the careful packaging of food boxes, each thoughtfully assembled with essential food items designed to sustain a family of five for up to two weeks.

As distribution began, the atmosphere became warmer, with smiles spreading and joyful moments lighting up the space. It was not just about handing out food, but about showing up for people in a season that calls for empathy, generosity, and reflection.

Speaking at the outreach, Dr. Michael Sunbola, Founder and Executive Director of LFBI, expressed appreciation to Taptap Send for their support and alignment with the organization’s mission at such a meaningful time. He also acknowledged the dedication of the volunteers and team members whose efforts ensured a smooth and dignified experience for every beneficiary.

For many of the beneficiaries, the support came at a critical moment. The food packages helped ease the physical demands of fasting, while also restoring a sense of stability within their households. Their gratitude, often expressed in heartfelt gestures, underscored the impact of collective action.

This Ramadan outreach reinforces LFBI’s ongoing commitment to addressing hunger and malnutrition through strategic programs like TEFAP. It also speaks to the value of partnerships that extend care beyond immediate communities. The collaboration with Taptap Send stands as a beautiful reminder that true generosity knows no distance. By connecting people in the diaspora with communities back home, Taptap Send is helping turn goodwill into meaningful, everyday support where it’s needed most.
