In celebration of Children’s Day 2025, the Lagos Food Bank Initiative, through its EDUFOOD School Feeding Program, joined forces with Sage Grey Finance Limited to make a lasting impact on children’s lives—starting with what’s on their plates.
On May 28, 2025, both organizations visited children in low-cost private schools with one mission: to ensure that no child learns on an empty stomach. The EDUFOOD program, tailored to reach food insecure school children, is designed not only to fight hunger but also to encourage enrollment, improve attendance, and support learning outcomes—especially among girls, who are often the most affected by poverty-related barriers to education.
The outreach was more than just serving food but also a reminder to the children that they matter and that there are people rooting for their success. The Sage Grey Team actively engaged with the pupils, sharing smiles and encouragement while handing meals that fueled both body and mind.
Samuel Adedeji, the Corporate Communications Officer at Sage Grey Finance Limited, emphasized that classrooms, teachers, and books alone cannot guarantee quality education if children are not well-nourished. He noted that this is why the EDUFOOD school feeding program is such a valuable and impactful social investment.
This initiative is a testament to how corporate partnership and community-focused programs can come together to champion the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Zero Hunger and Quality Education.
Through this collaboration, we are not just feeding children; we are nurturing their potential, supporting their right to education, and investing in a future where no child is left behind due to hunger.
