Birthdays are often celebrated with joy, family, and laughter. But this year, Miannie chose a different path. On October 30th, 2025, she marked her birthday in a truly meaningful way by partnering with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) to bring relief, smiles, and hope to economically disadvantaged women and families at the Food Bank warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja.
Through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), Miannie and the LFBI team distributed nutritious food items and decent clothing to families struggling with food insecurity. The event was filled with heartfelt moments, from Miannie joining volunteers in packaging the food boxes, to personally handing over food relief to beneficiaries who left with renewed hope and gratitude.
Beyond food distribution, the outreach represented a powerful reminder of how individual acts of kindness can transform lives. For many of the families present, this gesture meant more than just a meal, it was a message of compassion and solidarity in a time of need.
Speaking at the event, the LFBI team expressed deep appreciation to Miannie for choosing to celebrate her birthday by giving back. Her generosity and empathy mirror the very essence of LFBI’s mission: to ensure that no family goes to bed hungry.
As Miannie put it, “There’s no better way to celebrate life than by sharing it with those who need it the most.”
Her act of kindness is an inspiration to all, proving that birthdays can be more than personal milestones; they can be moments of impact, gratitude, and shared humanity.
The Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is one of Lagos Food Bank’s core interventions focused on providing immediate food relief to low-income families facing hunger and malnutrition. The program is designed to strengthen community resilience, restore dignity, and ensure that every family has access to nutritious food.
