In celebration of the holy month of Ramadan, a season marked by generosity and compassion, Lagos Food Bank Initiative partnered with Malta Guinness, provided food and relief items to food-insecure families in Ogundimu-Iwaya Community, Lagos on Friday, March 28, 2025, through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). TEFAP is designed to provide short-term relief and long-term support to individuals facing food insecurity.

The outreach which was aimed at reaching out to the vulnerable in Ogundimu-Iwaya community and providing food and relief items to support their basic needs during Ramadan. Ahead of the event, the Lagos Food Bank registration team visited the community to enroll beneficiaries and issue meal tickets, ensuring a smooth and organized distribution process.

On the day of the outreach, members of the Lagos Food Bank team, dedicated volunteers, and representatives from the Malta Guinness team came together to coordinate the event and distribute food packages with care and efficiency.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Michael Sunbola, the Executive Director/Founder of Lagos Food Bank Initiative expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Malta Guinness team for their partnership. He emphasized the power of personal involvement in creating meaningful impact, saying: “Ramadan reminds us of the power of kindness and compassion. Today, we are not just sharing food—we are sharing hope to those most deserving of support.”

In her testimonial, a representative of Malta Guinness also shared; “partnering with Lagos Food Bank Initiative has been a deeply fulfilling experience for myself and my team. Seeing the joy on the women’s faces was the highlight of the outreach. We look forward to many more impactful initiatives like this.”

The outreach ended with smiles and gratitude from the beneficiaries, who expressed their heartfelt thanks to both Lagos Food Bank and Malta Guinness for their thoughtful gesture during this sacred season. “This food will help us celebrate Ramadan in peace. God bless everyone who made this possible,” said Mrs. Amina, a mother of four and resident of Ogundimu-Iwaya.
