As part of The Elevation Church’s Love Week celebration, a collaboration with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative showcased a heartfelt and impactful outreach to support food-insecure households across underserved communities in Lagos. Notably the first phase of the global campaign, aligning with the shared commitment of both organizations to serve vulnerable populations through acts of compassion, love, and dignity was a beacon of hope for a better society for all.

Held at the Lagos Food Bank warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja, the outreach brought together volunteers from Elevation Church, Lagos Food Bank staff, and Food Bank volunteers to distribute nutritious food items and essential household supplies to families facing food insecurity.

The Love Week is an annual event celebrated by Elevation Church campuses worldwide, aimed at demonstrating God’s love through practical service to local communities. In Lagos, this vision was brought to life through an impactful partnership with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative, whose mission of combating hunger and malnutrition resonates deeply with the goals of the campaign.

In her remarks during the outreach, a representative from The Elevation Church shared: “We are honored to partner with Lagos Food Bank in spreading love and hope, especially at a time when many families are grappling with rising food costs and economic hardship. This outreach is a testament to our belief that love is best expressed through action.”

Dr. Michael Sunbola, Founder and Executive Director of Lagos Food Bank Initiative, also expressed gratitude and reinforced the power of collaboration: “This initiative is more than food distribution; it’s a celebration of compassion and love in action. We are proud to join hands with The Elevation Church to serve and uplift our communities, and we look forward to future phases of this wonderful campaign.”

Beneficiaries received a variety of relief items including rice, garri, cooking oil, noodles, and hygiene products, carefully selected to meet the basic nutritional needs of families. Volunteers also spent time engaging with the beneficiaries, offering words of encouragement and fostering a sense of community and care.

As both organizations continue to explore further opportunities to expand the campaign, this initial phase serves as a shining example of how faith-based organizations and nonprofit institutions can unite to make a lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most in our communities.
