Mr. Satender Singh, CEO of KFC Nigeria, was in attendance and active participation of the distribution of food boxes at Bamboo Village community in Ajah, along with his team, providing food security to vulnerable women and families through the leverage of partnerships with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative.

In his words, “the work of the Lagos Food Bank is very impressive, addressing the problem of hunger with such level of commitment is indeed commendable. We are happy to be a part of the impact they are creating in communities, and we will definitely be supporting their mission with partnerships in future.”

Taking place on the 12th of December 2024, Lagos Food Bank teamed up with Devyani International Nigeria Limited (KFC) through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) to provide staple foods, decent clothing and relief items for resilient households in Bamboo Village, Ajah, to ease the economic hardship in recent times.

The timely outreach came as a result of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of the partner organization, to impact needy families living below the poverty line in a low-income community in Lagos state.

Addressing attendees of the outreach in Ajah, the Founder/Executive Director of the food bank, Dr. Michael Sunbola, appreciated the partner organization for keying into the vision of the food bank, and supporting needy households with their basic needs to encourage resilience and good health. He highlighted some of the notable qualities of the franchised brand, KFC, stating that their consistency in services reveals a standard worth emulating.

The partnership between both organizations was a huge success, witnessing a large turn out of volunteers in attendance who showed up to ensure a seamless distribution process, proving that community development is best achieved when young people work in unison.
