The International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development (5 December), is an international observance mandated to provide an opportunity for volunteer-involving organizations and individual volunteers to promote volunteerism, encourage governments to support volunteer efforts and recognize volunteer contributions to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at local, national and international levels. The theme for this year is “Solidarity through Volunteering” as this is not an era to stand alone but together, as one, in solidarity with each other.

In celebration of this, Lagos Food Bank will be implementing a Community Intervention for vulnerable families within Badagry through its Temporary Food Assistance Program and a 2-day fun-filled program to celebrate the effort and resilience of its volunteers.

The program is scheduled for the 2nd to 4th of December 2022. The activities for this event include a community Outreach in Badagry community, Beach party, Visit to tourist sites, Grill night and lots more.
