On Wednesday, October 21, 2026, the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) welcomed Cardtonic (Tonic Technologies) for another meaningful Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) outreach at the Food Bank warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja. As a longstanding partner that has previously supported both TEFAP and EDUFOOD programmes, Cardtonic once again demonstrated its commitment to tackling food insecurity through practical community action.

Cardtonic is a leading African digital finance and payment platform that empowers individuals and businesses with secure, user-friendly financial solutions across Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and Ghana. Through its corporate social responsibility efforts, the company continues to invest in initiatives that improve access to essential resources for vulnerable households.

The day began with a facility tour, giving the Cardtonic team insight into the Food Bank’s operations and the programmes through which it supports families facing food insecurity. Afterwards, the team joined LFBI staff and volunteers in packaging food boxes for distribution. The atmosphere was purposeful and collaborative as boxes of essential food items were prepared for resilient women and households in underserved communities.

Adenike Yusuf, Administrative Officer at Cardtonic, addressed the gathering. She thanked the Food Bank volunteers and team members for their dedication and commitment, reminding everyone that giving back to the communities they serve sits at the heart of the work. She noted that when people show up together, the impact lasts far beyond a single day, helping to build stronger and more hopeful communities.

For the beneficiaries, the food boxes offered more than immediate nourishment. They provided relief from the daily pressure of securing meals and a tangible reminder that they had not been forgotten.

This latest partnership continues a proven relationship between Cardtonic and the Lagos Food Bank Initiative. Together, they remain committed to bridging the gap between need and access to food.
