On Thursday 5th December 2024, the Lagos Food Bank Initiative in partnership with Access Bank Plc. will reach out to women and families from underserved communities at Bariga Community in Mangoro, Ikeja. This collaboration aims to provide food and relief items to resilient individuals through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).

The Lagos Food Bank is unwavering in its dedication to providing healthy, nourishing meals to individuals across all communities. This outreach embodies the mission of taking closer steps to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 2: zero hunger, creating lasting impact for those who need it most.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY:

Bariga community is a popular district suburb in Lagos State. Bariga community is surrounded by water from the coastal lines along the Third Mainland Bridge, and is neighbor to Gbagada and Shomolu. The community serves as a Local Council Development Area within the state. Although it has electricity, the area lacks good roads, hospitals, schools, good drainage systems and waste disposal systems. Most of the inhabitants of downtown Bariga are artisans, fishermen and women, traders, due to the location of the community.
