In a bid to curb food insecurity affecting economically disadvantaged households in low-cost communities, Lagos Food Bank Initiative will partner with Mercy Eke on the 3rd of October 2024, to support families with staple food, decent clothing and relief items to last a family of 4 to 5 for 3 to 4 weeks through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) of the food bank.
Set to take place at the food bank warehouse, this outreach aims to ease the effect of rising living costs on vulnerable households in low-cost communities, to improve food security and equal access to daily necessities, and foster resilience.
GOAL:
The goal of this outreach is to alleviate food insecurity and to improve the nutritional and health status of resilient women and families in low-cost communities.
OBJECTIVES:
To provide staple foods and personal care items for the well-being of households.
To improve the nutritional intake of women and families living below the poverty line.
To encourage healthy feeding through the provision of nourishment.
