On Saturday 16th December 2023, the Lagos Food Bank in partnership with The Power Woman Network will reach out to vulnerable women in Oworonshoki community to distribute food and other relief materials through the Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).

The Lagos Food Bank is a nonprofit organization in Lagos, Nigeria, committed to providing food and ensuring sustenance to vulnerable families. Our impactful work aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2) aiming to combat hunger by eradicating food insecurity to vulnerable household in Lagos and Nigeria at large.

COMMUNITY

The outreach will hold in Oworonshoki community, a suburb located in Kosofe LGA of Lagos State. Oworonshoki community is a low altitude community surrounded by the Lagos lagoon. Amenities and basic structures like decent housing and community development are lacking in this community.

Power Woman Network is a is a network of female business leaders and professionals’ birth with a shared mission of enhancing the growth of women in the corporate, political and business leadership scenes.

GOAL:
To provide support to vulnerable women in low-income communities, ensuring access to essential food for their basic survival needs.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. To provide nutritional support to women in low-income communities.
  2. To empower food-insecure families to improve their nutritional and health conditions.
  3. To combat hunger by eradicating food insecurity.
