December 5th is annually observed as the International Volunteers Day for Economic and Social Development (IVD), recognizing and celebrating the selfless heroes who sacrifice their time and resources for the good of others, without expecting anything in return.
As a nonprofit organization leading the front-line fight against food insecurity and malnutrition, Lagos Food Bank Initiative leverages over 30,000 registered physical and virtual volunteers dedicated to contributing to the mission and vision of the organization.
As a way of recognizing the backbone of community-driven interventions, the Lagos Food Bank Initiative will host its community of volunteers to an impactful event to uplift and celebrate their invaluable support. Set to take place at the Food Bank warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja, on the 5th of December, 2025, this event is set to celebrate volunteers along with other meaningful activities like a fireside chat, games, entertainment and refreshments, and the premiering of a much-anticipated documentary on the Food Bank’s programs; “A Story About Humanity,” which capture the experiences, journey, contributions of volunteers
