Hunger and malnutrition impair cognitive abilities and reduce school attendance, perpetuating
intergenerational poverty. Children in resource-poor settings are especially affected and need
immediate support. Nutritional interventions can improve academic performance and reduce
absenteeism, addressing both immediate and long-term challenges of food insecurity.
On November 5th, 2024, Lagos Food Bank will be partnering with Ms. Hilda Nwaugo to combat
food insecurity affecting children in low-cost schools through the EDUFOOD program, in
celebration of her birthday.
