Inequality in the access to food especially among children contributes to poor school attendance
and cognitive performance which limits children’s ability to reach their future potential. This
impact further takes its toll on the economy of Nigeria because future human capital may be of
low quality, thereby, slowing national development. This can be modified by human action.
To this end, on October 25th, 2024, Lagos Food Bank is partnering with Hewlett Packard
(HP) to reduce the gap in access to food by reaching out to children in low-cost schools in Agege
community with nutritious meals through the EDUFOOD program.
