On November 6, 2025, the Lagos Food Bank Initiative hosted a heartwarming outreach at its warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja, in partnership with Dorathy Bachor, the reality TV star and entrepreneur, as she marked her 30th birthday in a remarkable act of compassion.
Instead of a lavish celebration, Dorathy chose to give back to society by supporting hundreds of vulnerable women and families through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). The outreach provided families in underserved communities with nutritious food items and decent clothing, bringing smiles and relief to many who struggle with food insecurity.

The event began with Dorathy’s arrival at the warehouse, where she was warmly welcomed by the Lagos Food Bank team and volunteers. She took a tour of the facility, learning firsthand about the organization’s food relief and nutrition-focused interventions. Following the tour, Dorathy joined the team in packaging and distributing food boxes, a gesture that highlighted her genuine commitment to service and empathy.

Speaking during the outreach, Dorathy expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to make a difference:
“Turning 30 is a huge milestone for me, and I wanted it to mean more than just a celebration. Partnering with Lagos Food Bank has reminded me that giving is one of the most fulfilling ways to celebrate life. Seeing the joy on these families’ faces is the best birthday gift I could ever receive.”

The atmosphere at the warehouse was filled with warmth, laughter, and gratitude as volunteers and beneficiaries shared in the joy of giving. The outreach not only celebrated Dorathy’s milestone but also reinforced the importance of kindness, empathy, and social responsibility in addressing hunger and poverty across communities.
The Lagos Food Bank Initiative commends Dorathy Bachor for using her platform to champion change and inspire others to take meaningful action. Her partnership reflects the organization’s mission to combat hunger, improve nutrition, and empower vulnerable populations through collaboration and compassion.
At Lagos Food Bank, every act of kindness, no matter how small, fuels the fight against hunger, building a food-secure Nigeria.
