On Friday, 10th May 2025, an impactful outreach was held at the Lagos Food Bank Initiative warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja, marking another significant milestone in the organization’s mission to fight hunger and uplift lives. This particular outreach, under the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), was made even more memorable with the presence and partnership of popular indigenous musical artist, Ayo Maff.

The TEFAP initiative continues to serve as a lifeline for many households across Lagos, providing food and essential items through the generous support of individuals and corporate organizations. On this day, Ayo Maff joined forces with Lagos Food Bank Initiative to support resilient families from low-income communities.

Upon his arrival, Ayo Maff was warmly received by the Executive Director of Lagos Food Bank, Dr. Michael Sunbola and welcomed with loud ovation by the volunteers. He greeted the beneficiaries, those whom he affectionately called his mothers, with humility and respect. His actions served as a powerful reminder that regardless of one’s background or financial situation, every person deserves to be treated with dignity. No social class should ever strip anyone of the respect owed to them as human beings.

Prince of the Street, Ayo Maff, got fully involved in the outreach, participating in the packaging of food boxes and personally handing them out to the beneficiaries as well as distributing decent clothing. The event reached a joyful peak when he engaged the volunteers with a live performance of one of his hit songs, sparking moments of singing, dancing, and shared joy. Reflecting on the experience, Ayo Maff shared, “Everyone deserves to feel seen and supported. Partnering with Lagos Food Bank is my way of giving back and lifting others.”

As a thoughtful extension of the day’s activities, beneficiaries were also given the opportunity to select clothes and shoes for themselves or their family members. This initiative not only brought smiles to their faces but also helped ease financial strain, allowing them to prioritize spending on other essentials like food.

The outreach was a truly uplifting experience. For the families, it was a day of support and hope. For the volunteers, it was a day of meaningful service. And for Ayo Maff, it was an inspiring opportunity to stand in solidarity with communities that strive for resilience.
