On Saturday, August 22, 2026, Sun King Nigeria Limited partnered with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) for the third time, bringing essential food support to families in Molete, Ibadan through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).

The partnership began with Sun King’s first TEFAP community outreach in Oshodi, Lagos, where members of their team turned out in impressive numbers to support families facing food insecurity. Their second engagement came through LFBI’s Walkathon and Fundraising event, where Sun King joined efforts to raise awareness and mobilise resources for the organisation’s school feeding program. This time, the partnership returned to its roots in community food assistance, extending support to another community in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The outreach brought together Sun King team members, LFBI staff, and dedicated volunteers who travelled from Lagos to Ibadan to support the intervention. Together, they worked to package and distribute food boxes containing essential staple foods to families experiencing food insecurity. The shared effort reflected a partnership that continues to move beyond financial support into active participation in the communities being served.

Representing Sun King at the outreach were Mr. Umoh Koffi Eno, Vice President, Sales, and Mrs. Omoyemi Olushola Tuga, Vice President, Pay As You Go, alongside other members of the Sun King team. Their presence underscored the company’s continued interest in supporting initiatives that create tangible impact within communities.

The outreach also highlighted the commitment of LFBI’s volunteers, many of whom made the journey from Lagos to Ibadan to contribute their time and energy to the day’s activities. Their willingness to show up wherever support is needed remains an essential part of making LFBI’s interventions possible.

For the beneficiary families, the food boxes provided timely relief from the pressure of meeting daily nutritional needs. Beyond the staples they received, the intervention offered reassurance that organisations and individuals are willing to stand alongside them during difficult times.

“I am deeply grateful for the support I received today. Seeing the food items and products given to me and many other women here in Ibadan has brought so much joy and relief. For many of us, this is the first time we have experienced this kind of kindness and support, something that will bring food to our tables and put smiles on our families’ faces. We are truly grateful to Sun King Nigeria Limited and Lagos Food Bank Initiative for remembering families like ours and showing us such great kindness,” said a beneficiary.

Sun King’s continued collaboration with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative reflects the power of partnerships that evolve with purpose. From Oshodi to the Walkathon and now Ibadan, each engagement has contributed in a different way to LFBI’s broader mission of improving food security and combating hunger and malnutrition.
