As a corporate organization, it is important to support low-income communities and families struggling for survival amidst the high cost of living,” were the words of the Founder of The Power Woman Network; Mrs Kemi Ogunkoya, who partnered with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative on the 16th of December 2023, to reach out to vulnerable but resilient families with nutritious food items and personal care materials for their sustainability through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).

The outreach which was a huge success, took place in Oworonshoki community of Lagos, and experienced a good number of beneficiaries catered for, in the wake of increasing cost of living.

Representatives from the partner organization actively participated in the distribution, joyfully putting smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries as they provided them with their basic needs. They also appreciated the food bank team for an impactful partnership, pledging allegiance to the course of ending malnutrition and hunger through more partnership engagements with the food bank.

Addressing those present at the outreach venue, the Founder/Executive Director of the LFBI, Dr. Michael Sunbola, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the partners of the day for their generosity to humanity, and encouraged more organizations to support low-cost communities through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) engagements as a means of sustaining these communities in the wake of increasing cost of living.

Also present for the outreach was the ever-committed food bank volunteers with their unwavering support for community development activities. They actively participated in the outreach activities and interacted warmly with the beneficiaries and partners of the day. The beneficiaries were delighted for all that was provided for them and expressed their utmost gratitude in the form of prayers to the food bank and partners.
