Corporate social responsibility (CSR) or corporate social impact is considered as an internal organizational policy or a corporate ethic strategy which aims to contribute to the development and sustenance of society by engaging in, with, or supporting community-based projects for the benefit of the public.

To this effect, Sun King partnered with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative on the 27th of January 2024, to support vulnerable women and families living in Oshodi Community with nutritious food items and personal care materials to ease the effect of inflation which has resulted in rising costs of living nationwide.

The outreach which took place in Oshodi Community was a huge success, witnessing a large turn out of corporate volunteers from the partner organization, who fully participated in the distribution activities with heartfelt expressions as they served beneficiaries of the Temporary Food Assistance Program joyfully.

In his welcome speech to the attendees of the outreach distribution, the Founder/Executive Director of the food bank, Dr. Michael Sunbola, appreciated the partner of the day for their commitment shown towards sustaining the vulnerable populace of society and encouraged corporate organizations to engage in more CSR activities as a core aspect of ensuring community development nationwide. He also also expressed his gratitude to the food bank volunteers present for the distribution as they continue to show unwavering dedication to being agents of positive change in the society.

Also addressing those present at the outreach was the Marketing Manager of Sun King, West and Central Africa, Bernard Olugbemi, who expressed his gratitude to the food bank team for a successful partnership and a well-organized outreach program, highlighting on the importance of impacting and empowering communities as a core aspect of their organization’s mission and vision. He also commended the food bank volunteers who were present in good numbers for their support, and encouraged them to stay resilient in helping those in need especially during difficult times.
