In alignment with the organization’s mission to alleviate hunger and food insecurity affecting vulnerable communities, Lagos Food Bank Initiative partnered with Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) to cater to children and women living in Bariga community with nutritious food and relief items.

The outreach which held on Saturday 25th November 2023, took place at the heart of the Bariga community, with the RMB team actively participating in the distribution activities to support beneficiaries with their basic needs, and engaging them with exciting games to lift their spirits amidst the nation’s economic challenges. Their participation demonstrated a genuine commitment to the success of the outreach, impacting a good number of our TEFAP beneficiaries who were very appreciative for the kindness shown towards them.

Addressing those present at the outreach, the C.E.O of RMB Nigeria, Mr. Dalu Ajene, appreciated the food bank for their impactful journey so far and highlighted on the importance of corporate organizations giving back to their respective societies through partnerships and donations, emphasizing on the unimaginable impact it creates in the lives of those in need of care and support.

Also in active participation was the Founder/Executive Director of the food bank, Dr. Michael Sunbola, who in his speech, commended the partners of the day for their dedication to caring for the needy. He also emphasized the importance of prioritizing the well-being of children and ensuring they have access to nutritious meals, as this plays a vital role in their growth and development for a brighter future.

Food bank volunteers were also present for the outreach, working together with corporate volunteers from RMB Nigeria to serve humanity. The outreach was a huge success, with a follow-up of a supplementary outreach at the food bank warehouse on the 1st of December, to reach registered beneficiaries who were unavailable for the distribution.
