On March 18, 2026, Oxygen X partnered with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) through its Family Farming Program to empower resilient women in Agege Community, Lagos State. This initiative, held in celebration of International Women’s Day, provided beneficiaries with the skills and resources needed to establish sustainable urban backyard poultry farms within their homes.
The day began at the LFBI warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja, where the Oxygen X team was warmly welcomed and given a guided tour of the facilities. This provided valuable insight into LFBI’s operations and the care behind every intervention. In his address just before the group moved together to Agege community, Dr. Michael Sunbola, Founder and Executive Director of LFBI, expressed sincere appreciation to Oxygen X for their commitment to sustainable solutions that go beyond immediate relief and commended the volunteers and team for their dedication to uplifting beneficiaries with tools for long-term resilience.

In Agege community, beneficiaries received education on financial literacy from the partner organization, hands-on training on poultry farm setup and management from the Food Bank program officers, along with essential starter materials including cages with chicks, feeders, and multivitamins. These resources are designed to help beneficiaries produce fresh food for household consumption and income.
Emmanuella (Anwuli Emmanuella Awogu), Brand Manager at Oxygen X, addressed the attendees with heartfelt conviction, sharing the company’s mission and her passion for gender-focused impact. She emphasized that beyond providing financial solutions, Oxygen X is committed to giving back by investing in initiatives that empower women and strengthen communities. Highlighting the Family Farming initiative, she noted that equipping women with practical skills and resources enables entire households to thrive into spaces of resilience, self-reliance, and dignity.
The atmosphere was vibrant with hope and determination: enthusiastic discussions during the learning and training sessions, cheers as women received their kits, and a collective excitement about building self-reliance and stronger households.

For the women of Agege, this outreach represented a significant step toward self-reliance. By venturing into backyard poultry farming, they can now improve nutritional intake for their families and generate sustainable income, contributing to a more resilient community.
This Family Farming initiative reinforces LFBI’s mission to address the root causes of hunger and malnutrition by promoting sustainable agriculture and household empowerment. Oxygen X’s partnership stands as a shining example of how collaborative efforts can foster economic independence and strengthen communities.
