On April 11, 2025, compassion met action as Lagos Food Bank Initiative, in collaboration with Beauty Tukura, reached out to vulnerable families through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). The impactful outreach took place at the Lagos Food Bank warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja — a hub of hope and support for vulnerable families.

Beauty Tukura was warmly welcomed by enthusiastic volunteers, who received her with cheer and excitement. After the warm reception, she began her visit with a comprehensive tour of the Food Bank’s facilities. She took her time to understand the mission and impact of the Lagos Food Bank, familiarizing herself with all nine life-changing programs operated by the organization.

With sleeves rolled up and a heart ready to serve, Beauty actively participated in packaging food boxes for the beneficiaries, working side-by-side with the volunteers. She didn’t just show up — she engaged deeply, interacting with the families and taking the time to listen to their stories. Before receiving their food boxes, beneficiaries were also given the chance to select from a variety of good-quality clothing, bringing an added layer of experience. Thanks to the Cloth Banking Nigeria program.

The atmosphere was filled with gratitude as families expressed heartfelt thanks, showering the visiting partner with prayers and praises. Their smiles told stories of relief and appreciation, made possible by the generous support of Beauty Tukura and Lagos Food Bank Initiative.

The event concluded on a high note with the presentation of a Certificate of Public Good to Beauty Tukura by the Executive Director of Lagos Food Bank Initiative – Dr. Michael Sunbola. In his remarks, he commended her for her generosity and for personally engaging in the outreach. In response, Beauty described the experience as deeply fulfilling and encouraged others to step up and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives by supporting the vital work of Lagos Food Bank Initiative.
