On Saturday, August 2, 2025, the spirit of community and compassion once again came alive during the second phase of the Love Week Outreach with Elevation Church and Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI), held as part of the Church’s initiative to support those in need. This outreach was done as part of the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEPAF), a program of the LFBI designed to relieve families of the burden of food insecurity and its consequences.

Beneficiaries, including elderly women, widows, and visually impaired individuals, went home with food relief items and ignited hope. This outreach was not just about distributing food; it was about restoring dignity, spreading love, and showing families that they are not alone during difficult times.

In a brief remark, Executive Director of Lagos Food Bank, Dr. Michael Sunbola stated:

“The cost of living is on the rise, families can barely feed, and the least we can do is to come together to uplift them and help them restore their dignity.”

The importance of partnerships like this cannot be overstated. With the growing number of vulnerable individuals who visit the Food Bank daily to register for food aid, collaborations with organizations including faith-based entities like Elevation Church enable the Lagos Food Bank Initiative to reach its teeming beneficiaries more effectively and consistently.

From heartfelt engagement with beneficiaries and expression of gratitude to shared moments of joy with volunteers alike, the outreach was a moving display of what can be achieved when organizations and communities come together with purpose.

As food insecurity continues to affect many, community-driven efforts like this remain crucial to closing the hunger gap and supporting those who need it most.
