On a warm morning at a low-cost school, eight-year-old Tunde sat in class with something he hadn’t felt in a long time, focus. Just weeks before, hunger made it difficult for him to concentrate, learn, or even stay through the school day. Today, with nutritious meals provided through the EDUFOOD Program, he listens, participates, and smiles a little more.

Across another underserved community, Fatima gently cradles her baby girl, once weak from poor nutrition, now growing stronger after receiving critical support through the NUMEPLAN Program. With the right guidance and food support, she has gained not just knowledge, but confidence in caring for her child’s health.

These stories reflect a simple truth: health begins with nourishment.

At Lagos Food Bank Initiative, their commitment to healthier communities is at the heart of everything they do. Through food assistance, school feeding, maternal and child nutrition, sustainable agriculture, and empowerment programs, they continue to address the root causes of hunger and malnutrition while improving the overall well-being of economically disadvantaged individuals and families in underserved communities.

Till this day, they continue to stand at the intersection of food and health, ensuring that vulnerable families are not only fed but empowered to live healthier lives. Because when a child can learn, a mother can thrive, and a family can eat well, communities grow stronger and healthier.

You too can join the movement to create healthier communities through nutrition, sustainability, and empowerment, one life, one family, one community at a time. You can partner with Lagos Food Bank Initiative to impact more communities, or volunteer your time and skills with them to help strengthen public health through nutrition interventions.
