To commemorate a decade of delivering clean and sustainable energy solutions across Nigeria and beyond, Starsight Energy partnered with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) for a high-impact outreach aimed at alleviating food insecurity in vulnerable communities. The outreach, held on 18th of July, 2025, was part of Starsight Energy’s 10th Anniversary Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative and was designed to extend the celebration beyond the boardroom and into the heart of underserved communities.
The collaboration brought together over 50 staff members from Starsight Energy who volunteered their time and resources at the Lagos Food Bank warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja. Together with LFBI’s dedicated team and volunteers, the outreach saw the distribution of nutritious food items, personal care essentials, and household supplies to hundreds of beneficiaries living in underserved areas.
In her remarks, Bukola Badmos, The Executive Director of Starsight Energy, noted that the company remains committed to empowering communities and driving sustainable development through meaningful partnerships. “At Starsight Energy, we believe that energy, health, and food security are interconnected pillars of sustainable living. This partnership with Lagos Food Bank is a reflection of our values and our desire to celebrate this milestone by giving back,” she said.
The Executive Director of Lagos Food Bank Initiative, Dr. Michael Sunbola, expressed his appreciation for the partnership and acknowledged the vital role corporate organisations play in supporting community-focused development. “This collaboration with Starsight Energy highlights how the private sector can make a tangible difference in the lives of the underserved. Their support has enabled us to reach more families with the nourishment and dignity they deserve.”
The outreach formed part of LFBI’s Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), which addresses immediate hunger needs by providing food relief to low-income households. It also featured engaging sessions with beneficiaries and volunteers, strengthening the spirit of solidarity and shared humanity.
