On 21st February, the Lagos Food Bank Initiative hosted a transformative NUMEPLAN outreach program in partnership with the PowerWoman Network, providing critical support to undernourished mothers and their malnourished babies. The initiative combined nutritional counseling, education, and the distribution of food boxes designed to boost dietary intake and improve overall health.

Held at the Food Bank warehouse, the partner organization was represented by a vibrant team with Carol Ariyibi addressing attendees on behalf of the organization. She highlighted the importance of maternal and child nutrition in building stronger, healthier families and communities. Speaking on behalf of the Food Bank, Dr. Michael Sunbola emphasized the role of proper nutrition in early childhood development and shared practical guidance for sustaining healthy eating habits at home.

Through this collaborative outreach, beneficiaries not only received immediate nutritional support but also gained knowledge and skills to enhance long-term health outcomes through adequate nutrition. The initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of Lagos Food Bank Initiative and its partners to tackle food insecurity and malnutrition among the most vulnerable populations in Lagos.

The Nutritious Meal Plan Intervention for Vulnerable Mothers and Children (NUMEPLAN) program underscores the impact of strategic partnerships in addressing nutrition challenges and empowering communities to thrive.
