On September 16th, 2025, the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI), in partnership with award-winning content creator and brand influencer, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as KieKie, had a special outreach through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) at the Food Bank warehouse in Ikeja, bringing dignity, nourishment, and hope to women and families from underserved communities.
Upon her arrival at the warehouse, Kiekie was warmly welcomed by the LFBI team and a large group of volunteers, many of whom are excited fans eager to work alongside her. After a short tour of the LFBI’s facility, she rolled up her sleeves to help package the food boxes, a gesture that lifted spirits and inspired everyone present.
Before the day’s main highlight, the distribution of food packages, she spent quality time with the women beneficiaries, making them feel valued and seen. Her presence added laughter, energy, and encouragement, creating an atmosphere of warmth and joy.
Addressing the attendees of the special outreach, the Founder/Executive Director of the Food Bank, Dr. Michael Sunbola, appreciated the partner of the day, Kiekie, for her timely collaboration to support families and need. He also acknowledged the presence of volunteers, especially the newly registered, attending an outreach with the Food Bank for the first time. He also highlighted the commitment and support of the old and regular volunteers as a factor for the organizations impact and success.
In her reflections of the day’s activities, Kiekiie shared that “what she saw far exceeded her expectation about LFBI.” She further called on other people of influence to join hands in supporting initiatives that impact lives such as the TEFAP.
Beyond distributing nutritious food packages and decent clothing, enough to sustain each family of five for up to three weeks – Kiekie also provided transportation fare for the women, ensuring they returned home without additional burdens.
The outreach was more than just about food. It was about dignity, love, and the reassurance that no family should ever have to face hunger alone. Every smile, every word of gratitude, and every hopeful face was a reminder of the far-reaching impact food aid.
With partners like Kiekie standing alongside LFBI, the vision of a future where no woman or child goes to bed hungry moves closer to reality.
