Every August, the world pauses to honor the energy, creativity, and resilience of young people through International Youth Day; a global movement that celebrates their achievements, confronts their challenges, and amplifies the opportunities before them. It is a powerful reminder that the voices and actions of youth are shaping the future every single day.
This year, in commemoration of International Youth Day 2025, Lagos Food Bank Initiative will join forces with LEAP Africa and Dow Africa to host an inspiring seminar for our vibrant volunteer community and invited guests.
Happening on August 16, 2025 at the LFBI warehouse, in Mangoro, Ikeja, the event embraces the global theme: “Youth Advancing Multilateral Cooperation Through Technology and Partnerships.” The day promises to ignite passion, spark ideas, and mobilize the next generation of leaders committed to building a better world.
At the heart of the celebration will be a thought-provoking seminar and dynamic panel sessions on:
- Sustaining Scalable Impact Through Strategic Partnerships and Digital Literacy
- Power in Unity: How Youth Collaborations Are Solving Global Problems
Leading these conversations are trailblazing voices in their fields: Chude Jideonwo (CEO & Co-founder, RED & For Africa), Eyitayo Ogunmola (Founder, Utiva), Sola Adesakin (Founder, Smart Stewards Financial Advisory Limited), White Olasunkanmi Barry (Executive Director, Barry White Media), Princess Agunbiade (Founder, Beauty, Brains, and The Bag), and Michael Sunbola (Founder/Executive Director, Lagos Food Bank Initiative). Together, they will explore bold, practical ways for young people to create lasting societal change.
For LFBI’s volunteer network, this occasion is more than just a date on the calendar, it is a rallying point for empowerment, innovation, unity, and leadership. By fostering connections, building skills, and celebrating youth-driven impact, we reaffirm our belief that when young people lead, communities thrive.
