The EDUFOOD program of the Lagos Food Bank Initiative witnessed Cornerstone Insurance PLC upholding her commitment to integrity and empathy on Thursday, 12 February 2026.

Cornerstone Insurance PLC arrived at the Food Bank with cheerful faces to feed 500 school pupils in three different schools within Dopemu Area of Agege, Lagos State.

At the opening ceremony which commenced shortly after the Cornerstone Insurance Team had toured the Lagos Food Bank Initiative’s warehouse, they were welcomed by excited volunteers and the LFBI Team. It did not go unnoticed that Cornerstone Insurance PLC keeps its word; as Rilwan Oyedele a member of the LFBI Team alluded to the sustainability and impact of nutrition programs, citing the consistency Cornerstone Insurance PLC was exemplifying. The Executive Director expressed his appreciation for their support to the EDUFOOD program and invariably the Lagos Food Bank Initiative.

Handing over the microphone to Miss Cordelia Ekeocha, Group Head Marketing and Corporate Communications who also represented the Managing Director of Cornerstone Insurance PLC, Stephen Alangbo, she appreciated the volunteers who give their time to humanitarian services and the Lagos Food Bank for creating awareness about the problems that exist within the community. She went further to say, “This is Cornerstone Insurance PLC’s little way of alleviating poverty at the grassroots level by feeding children. To us, it is a means to show our love as well as share our blessings to the school children. Through this, we also say thank you to our customers.” Closing her speech, she highlighted other community impact projects and expressed how Cornerstone Insurance PLC looks forward to building on its partnership with Lagos Food Bank Initiative, and ensuring it gets better by the year.

After the speech, Cornerstone Insurance PLC’s Team proceeded to serve the meals, loading them into the vehicle before heading to the schools to distribute the plates of food to the children personally.

The happiness and relief on the faces of the children were the testament that indeed building on partnerships drives the consistency needed for the sustainability of the impact of nutrition programs. At the end of the distribution, Miss Cordelia Ekeocha stated that moving forward, the teachers would also become beneficiaries of the partnership.

The Lagos Food Bank Initiative looks forward to a sustainable partnership and an expanded reach of impact with Cornerstone Insurance PLC. Truly, with Cornerstone Insurance PLC the future is assured.
