Corporate partnerships leave their greatest mark not when they happen once, but when they become a sustained commitment to the people who need them most. For the third time, Leadway Group demonstrated that commitment by partnering with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) to extend food relief to vulnerable families in Ogun State.
On Friday, July 31, 2026, Leadway Group joined the Lagos Food Bank Initiative for its third Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) outreach, bringing essential food support to resilient women and vulnerable households in Sango-Ota. The outreach formed part of the organisation’s broader corporate social responsibility efforts, reinforcing its continued investment in improving the wellbeing of underserved communities.
Present at the outreach were Mr. Gboyega Lesi, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Leadway Assurance; Mr. Niyi Abiola, Brand and Communications Manager, Leadway Group; and Mr. Babajide Salisu, Branch Manager, Leadway Abeokuta. Together with staff and volunteers of the Lagos Food Bank Initiative, they participated in the distribution of nutritious food boxes containing essential staple items, each one carefully prepared to help ease the burden of food insecurity for vulnerable households.
Addressing participants during the outreach, Mr. Niyi Abiola, Brand and Communications Manager of Leadway Group, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to creating meaningful social impact through partnerships that directly improve lives. He noted that supporting communities remains an important part of Leadway Group’s corporate responsibility, while commending the Lagos Food Bank Initiative for its unwavering dedication to tackling hunger and improving food security across Nigeria.
Dr. Michael Sunbola, Executive Director of the Lagos Food Bank Initiative, thanked Leadway Group for once again choosing to stand alongside vulnerable families. He noted that enduring partnerships such as this demonstrate the power of collaboration in addressing immediate needs while building stronger and more resilient communities over time.
Beyond the food distributed, the outreach offered something equally important: reassurance. For many beneficiaries, the support eased the difficult decisions that often come with limited household resources and rising food costs. It reminded them that they are not alone and that organisations continue to invest in their wellbeing with consistency and purpose.
This latest collaboration reflects the shared vision of Leadway Group and the Lagos Food Bank Initiative to build healthier, more resilient communities through sustained action. As both organisations continue working together, their partnership serves as a reminder that lasting impact is created not by a single intervention, but by the decision to keep showing up for the people who need it most.
