“Initiatives like this need the support of more meaningful people in our society to help those in need.” Those were Lateef Adedimeji’s exact words during his testimonial, which took place after an impactful distribution of staple foods and relief items to Muslim households at the Lagos Food Bank warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja.

It was a case of philanthropy and collective action between Lateef Adedimeji and the Lagos Food Bank Initiative to support food insecure Muslim families in underserved communities in Lagos, which led to the restoration of hope among the beneficiaries of the Ramadan Food Assistance Program (RFAP) of the Food Bank.

Held on the 19th of March 2025, the distribution was graced with a large number of volunteers who came to show their support for community development, alongside one of their favorite actors and movie producers, Lateef Adedimeji, a renowned A-list actor in Nollywood.

Addressing attendees of the distribution, the Founder/Executive Director of the Food Bank, Dr. Michael Sunbola, appreciated the partner of the day and commended his creativity, hard work and consistency he put in over there years to remain a public figure that inspires and motivates the Nigerian youth towards being positively productive citizens. In his effortlessly delivered speech, he also commended the volunteers for their unwavering support to ensure a seamless distribution process.

The partner of the day, Lateef Adedimeji, commended the efforts of the Food Bank for their service to humanity, expressing his astonishment at how far and well they contribute to the resilience and wellbeing of women and households in underserved communities.

A notable highlight of the day were the words of encouragement the partner had for the beneficiaries upon receiving their food boxes, urging them to remain positive-minded and resilient in the face of challenges.

The outreach was a huge success which resulted in bright smiles on the faces of beneficiaries and volunteers present, proving that no societal issue is unsolvable when collective action and philanthropy work in unison.
